About Me

Medhasree Ghosh

I’m Dr. Medhasree Ghosh, a researcher in Computer Science and Engineering, currently working in the University of Oulu as a postdoctoral researcher under Future Computing Group. I have completed my doctoral degree at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna, where I worked at the crossroads of Deep Learning, Complex Networks, and Blockchain Security. My research focuses on building interpretable deep learning frameworks for detecting and mitigating security threats in decentralized ecosystems—because if machines can think, they might as well think securely.

I aspire to pursue a professorial career where I can contribute meaningfully to academia through both impactful research and dedicated teaching—two pursuits I value equally and deeply enjoy.

“Goodness is the truest form of wisdom, for what we give to the world through honesty and empathy is what the universe returns to us.”

Educational Background

Teaching Philosophy

My teaching philosophy is grounded in the belief that teaching is the most powerful form of communication. For me, building an IIT-level Computer Science cohort is not merely a responsibility but a privilege. I strive to create classrooms that are interest-driven, conceptually rigorous, and rooted in practical reasoning rather than rote learning.

I am comfortable teaching all core Computer Science subjects, with a special passion for Formal Languages and Automata Theory, Data Structures and Programming, Design and Analysis of Algorithms, and Database Management Systems. I am equally enthusiastic about advanced electives such as Machine Learning, Data Mining, Data Analytics, and Complex Networks.

My instructional approach follows a three-layer pedagogy model:

Drawing from my PhD research on deep learning–driven security analysis of Ethereum, I plan to introduce Security Analytics with Deep Learning as an applied module where students analyze real transaction graphs, detect anomalies, and visualize vulnerabilities. Teaching has never felt like a duty to me — it is my chosen path.

Teaching Assistantship

I have served as a Teaching Assistant across a wide range of core and applied Computer Science courses, contributing to lectures, laboratory sessions, evaluations, and student mentoring. These experiences have strengthened my pedagogical maturity and classroom engagement skills.

Research Experiences

My research journey began during my Master’s studies in bioinformatics, where I worked on computational analysis of biological data and developed a strong foundation in machine learning and data-driven modeling. During my PhD, my focus evolved toward deep learning–driven security analysis, particularly in the context of blockchain ecosystems, where I extensively employed graph neural networks and complex network analysis to model large-scale, dynamic, and adversarial systems. Building on this interdisciplinary background, my future research interests lie in advancing deep learning methodologies for complex networks, with an emphasis on interpretable, scalable, and security-aware modeling of real-world systems.
